I've been drawing since I developed motor skills (literally!) and spent most of my formative years continuing that. I excelled in art classes up until high school, then I discovered my penchant for writing. I still drew but a bad art teacher really put me off taking anymore art classes. It started with poetry and then delved into the realm of story-telling and song-writing. I'm not as much of song-writer anymore, but I do poetry every now and then and are constantly crafting stories. In recent years, I wanted to devote myself toward further my abilities in both writing and drawing, however, I find myself drawing less and less these days.
It's not that I don't still enjoy it, but in the end, I realized that I drew because I wanted to see my ideas realized on paper. Maybe that means, I'm really not meant to be an illustrator, I love to conceptualize but I find the desire to do full pieces isn't as strong as it used to be, you know. Part of me wonders if this is as big of a deal as it feels like it is or if I'm stressing over nothing. In a lot of ways, I do want to get better in drawing so that I can realize my visions better, but I am starting to see that writing is a much greater focus now than in the past.
I don't know, I guess I'm writing this to see what others might have to say on the matter. So, anybody that watches me, chime in on the subject. Everyone has an opinion and I'd like to hear it.
Well, I guess that's it for right now. 'Til next time... take care, y'all.
